Daddy Mans is Homes!! Please continue to pray for us'uns!!

Hi all our furiends!! First off, we wanted to say how sad we are that we were unable to pawticipate in this years Blogville Valentines Day Pawty. George would have asked Marlene, Gracie would have asked Yoda, Toby would have asked Tweedles, and Lily would have asked Lincoln. (By the way, Lincoln sent something special'ums to me, Lily Jayne, for my birthday and I hope to post about it soon my sweet, stud muffin!!) Mama Mindy, our hands, is sad we are unable to go, too. She feels bad that she was unable to do the photos, askin' posts, and such...Shesa had a bunch on her plate with school, work, and now caregiving for Daddy mans. Other Mama CJ works away from home while mama Mindy works at home. Both of 'dems are super busy when at home irregardless of where 'da work is and now they have to make Daddy Mans well.

Well...wesa guess wesa should get to the bottom of this post'ums. Wesa would like to blog more and as Daddy Mans gets better, hopefully we will. But we have good news...Daddy Mans is home. He got re-leased (is that like a movie rental?) from the hospital...whatever 'dat means...this morning at 10am and he is at home. Wesa aren't allowed to get near hims since we would have mauled him at the door being so excitamigated to see him...so we just mauled the moms instead. He is on a high dosage of pain meds and he is also on a muscle relaxant. Apparently neck bones in the back are connected to a lot of muscles and thingys so he needs the muscle relaxant so he doesn't have muscle twitches. Daddy Mans sure missed our Purr-Sib Jack...apparently he missed us'uns too...but he kepts talkin' about how much he missed Jack at the hospital. That's fine with us'uns as long as he remembers to share his food once in a while with us'uns and give us rubbins... :)

Wesa will now let our Mama Mindy say a few words before we close this L-O-N-G post'ums.

Hi friends! Your prayers and thoughts have been so wonderful to my family at this time. We will continue to need prayers as my dad still needs to recover fully and start physical therapy in 6 weeks time. He is concerned about the numbness and tingling he has in his hands and if he will ever have feeling again. Every time I am in the hospital and I see my loved one quite dependent, it reminds me of how fragile and delicate life is and how God made us all to such a degree that one little change in his un-flawed design can cause many problems. My dad and I don't always agree but I love him very much and never wish him harm...even if I can be quite verbally attacking towards him due to our conflicting points of view on various subjects of life. I'm worried that my dad is making himself upset thinking about the "the worse that could happen" rather than focus on the gains he is making day to day. I also am beginning to realize how difficult caregiving is in all actuality and want to thank all the nurses, nurses assistants, and other caregivers for their patient and kind words and actions that show a person that they are loved. Thank you!

Back to us'uns: Mama Mindy is right'ums...wesa still need your continued support as we have to, as Mama Mindy says, "Let go, Let God." Shesa says that means we put all our trust in the Lord and just take it day by day. Wesa don't know what the future will bring, but for nows wesa together and wesa loves one anothers.

Daddy Mans Surgery--Update #1

Hi furiends! Its been a while since we have typed to you on your blogs and the writing on our blog has gone lax. Sorry about that...but Daddy Mans has been a primary concern of ours and mama has also been B-U-S-Y with school.

But let's talk about Daddy Mans. Mamas FINALLY got home at 6pm tonight. They left at 5:20am this morning...now thats EARLY!! Anywho...guess Daddy Mans is real sore and is on a morphine pain machine that releases a set amount if he clicks every 8 minutes...but no more than that...so if he click 10 times in an 8 minute period it only gives out the one dose. Daddy Mans surgery lasted a WHOPPING 5 1/2 HOURS!! He's a bit loopy right now and still has some lost feeling/numbness in his fingers and toes. Tomorrow he starts physical therapy in his hospital room and hopefully he will do well and get the feeling back. Poor daddy mans neck bones were pushing into his spinal cord causing damage. But...he already feels more feeling than he had before and wants to be out of the hospital pronto!!

Mamas are pooped and we think we will let them cuddle with us'uns so that we can be sure to take care of them as they take care of daddy mans. Thank goodness Aunty Kaycee (our real aunty...not just honorary) lives close to the hospital so that she'll check on him again this evening. Mamas will call around 9pm and then see him later in the morning tomorrow. So...wesa miss our mamas and our daddy mans...but he'll be home soon and they keep coming home glad to see us'uns. So that's a good thing!!

Daddy Mans Needs Prayers and Power of the Paw

Our daddy mans is having neck surgery tomorrow. He has a neck that is practically straight up and down when it should have a curve. His neck has bulging discs and disc deterioration. One or more of his discs is pushing on his brain stem. His surgeon usually only needs to open one side of the neck to perform surgery...daddy mans will have to have both sides of his necks opened up for his surgery. He has a low risk of paralysis. So please purr-ray, paw-ray, pray, cross-paws, and send the power of the paw his way. Daddy mans name is Don...incase you need a name to talk to God about or send good universe vibes toward.
Thanks for all your help!! Mamas will leave with daddy man in the morning at 5:30am!! WAY TOO EARLY! His surgery will take around 3 hours. YIKES!! Wesa don't knows if we'll even see them much during the daylight hours. Mama Mindy will post sometime tomorrow to update you on the surgery happenings.

All Smushie Faced Kids Respond if you can Help!!

Hisa all our furiends!! If you are a smushie face, we need your help. A friend of ours has a smushie-faced senior that is having a lot of trouble breathing through her nose. She's been taken to the vet but surgery is not an option and the vets don't seem to have any solutions to the problem. Wesa just wondering if you have ever dealt with a breathing/nose/nasal problem with your smushie face, and if you know of any supportive medication or natural product that might help.

Now, most of you know about the heartbreaking tragedy that our friends The Houston Pittie Pack endured just before Christmas. We were SO proud to be a part of Blogville as we witnessed how everyone came together to help.

So we want to run a new auction with 2 aims which means that the money that we raise will be split in two as follows - firstly, we want to raise some money to add to the donations that have already been pouring in for The Houston Pittie Pack.

And secondly, to honour the memory of sweet Shelby, who sadly lost her life in the tragic fire, we wanted to raise money for another bait dog who so desperately needs help, just as Shelby needed help all those months ago.

So we would like to introduce you to Ava - she was rescued in Chester, SC. This precious little girl, only about 18 months old, was rescued by the wonderful people at Noah's Arks Rescue.

Sweet Ava - victim of cruelty by the hand of man

Poor Ava's face has been shredded to the point that a large part of is completely missing. Her sinus cavities have punctures and her throat is torn. Her entire little body show the ravages of the attacks from the fighting dogs who were being trained to kill another dog. She is emaciated from starvation. Yet through it all, Ava only wants to be loved. She never stops wagging her tail and wanting to show that love, even in the face of the excruciating pain that she is in. This beautiful spirit reminds us so much of our beautiful Shelby. We could not think of a better way to honour her memory than to raise money for Ava. After all, if it wasn't for sweet Shelby, Crossed Paws would not even exist!

So, down to business! We would like to run an 'All In The Name Of Love' auction - because we love The Houston Pittie Pack, we've totally fallen for Ava and we love Blogville! The auction will open on 30th January and will close one week later on 6th February - that way we can also put some romantic items into the auction so that everyone can hopefully get their items in time for Valentines Day!

Truffle's mama has been having health problems and the funds raised will pay for the $300 "Lady gardenectomy" aka spay for Miss Truffle. We donated two prints done by a local (Augusta, KS) and internationally famous and expired aka passed-away artist named Sandy Gore Evans. There is a Valentine's Print with the artist signature on the back of the frame and also a Chirstmas Snowman print. They are both matted and framed.

There are also super deals on other cat items and books...so check it out!! Right now, we have a $20 bid on a small cat furminator...seriously...it is new and usually would go for $35+. Feline Friday postponed until next week--Brief updates

Hi all our furiends!

Wesa were going to share pictures of the senior queen of the house, Miss Socks Lucyfur, our purr-sib...but mama has been super busy and we had news that needed to be shared with our community of paw crossers and prayers.

LUNA NEWS: Miss Luna is fully healed from her surgery and is slowly being introduced--at her pace--to the rest of the feline household. She has met Socks and Jack briefly...but she's not quite ready to live "upstairs" full time. We are allowing her to explore at her own pace and right now she finds the basement to be just fine and dandy.

GRACIE NEWS: Gracie got her stitches removed from where they removed a tumor. And guess what?!? The test results revealed it to be BENIGN! Yay!

GEORGE NEWS: George's poop shooter last Friday was going berserk. He had diahrea for 72 hours and we took him to the vet on Monday morning. The vet gave 2 shots and 2 pills he's taking twice a day. He was never at risk of dehydration since he was constantly drinking water and he did not vomit...he just wasn't eating and his poop-shooter kept running like it was going out of style. As soon as he saw the vet, he has been feeling better every day and has had solid poop since Tuesday morning. Yay!

LILY NEWS: Lily celebrates her 3rd birthday this Sunday, so come back for a special birthday post then.

MAMA MINDY NEWS: Mama Mindy is super educated but the economy has reduced all jobs in the field she had her degrees in, so she is back in school going for an Elementary Education degree. She is working part-time on-line for her university and going to the local Community College for 12 hours worth of school. This summer, she will take 11 hours. Pray for her! It has been 1 1/2 years since she has been a student and she is a bit anxious and overwhelmed.

Their mama, Miss Cindy, also is one of the owners of the newest home-made goodies stores, Pugs in the Kitchen. Feline Friday #2--Luna recoops from surgery

Hi all! Luna Lovegood (Luna Luvs for short) here to share you my post operative pictures. I just loves my Mama CJ (pictured in red cap to hide her wild hairdo). Mama CJ and my mama Mindy (taking pictures) picked me up Thursday morning two days after my necessary surgery in order to live with the pugs and two kitty cats upstairs. I have no post-op bleeding and have pain meds to be given two times a day. I have already used my paws on the furniture and I don't miss my front claws. Besides, mamas say I will be an indoor cat the rest of my life and will never have to worry about fighting over chicken bones with other feline inferiors. The feline doctors and techs said that I was a talkin' alot to them during my 48 hour recovery...which was a good sign to my mamas that I was feelin' good. I came home and immediately went to the food bowl and water bowl and demanded that they be filled up. Seriously...did they think that I wouldn't want to eat or drink?!? Anywhos...they took care of my demands and I also used the litter box. I'm home...but they say I will need to go back next week to have two booster shots and to have my paws checked. What is with these peeps?!? Besides their constant use of the doctors, they aren't too bad and they do listen to my queen-ly demands. Soon I will be meeting my fursibs Socks and Jack and I sure hope they like little ol' me. I will update you on next week's Feline Friday on how the meet and greets go...cuz' by then I will have complete access to the entire house. Mwahahahahaha!! I mean "meow" (all innocently).

Gracie Lynn Post Op #2--Gracie is Home!

Gracie has been home since after 4pm. She has stitches from her surgery on the removal of a half-dollar sized growth on her neck. In a week, we'll find out if it was benign or not. She had two toothers removed and she was sent home with pain meds. Please pray for a full recovery for her and that the results of her neck growth is benign. Continue to pray for Luna...to know that she is loved as she stays two days at the vets to insure that she is in little to no pain following her surgery. Also, pray that she is experiencing little to no pain...preferrably the NO PAIN. :) She'll be coming home Thursday morning. Yay!

Gracie & Luna Post Surgery Update #1

Hi all! Mama Mindy here to tell you that all went well with the girls operations. Gracie's lump was removed and she had her dental. Two small toothers were removed...but considered to be "inconsequential"...meaning it won't affect her eating or anything like that. Luna is just waking up from surgery and is doing fine as well. Gracie will be released this evening and both mamas (me and my mama CJ) will go pick her up. Poor Luna Luvs will have to stay 2 days to insure that her pain mangement is under control before being released to her mamas.

I will update again tonight when I get home with Gracie Lynn.

Gracie Lynn & Luna Need your Prayers!!

Hi all our furiends!! Gracie Lynn reportin'. I went for my yearly well-pug check on Thursday, and the dogtor said my toothers needed cleanin' and then the vet tech Ms. Kristie said that she felt a lump on my neck'ums. Turns out I have a cyst that will need to be removed, too...and then they will send the removed cyst off to labs for test'ums. Please pray that the cyst is benign and that I do well under the anesthesia.

Hi furiends! Luna Bug here to tell you that I too need your prayers. Although I love my front claws, they must be removed so that I can live upstairs with the pugs and other kitties. Mama already had cried into my fur to let me know how much she hates to put me through this operation...but that it really is for me to have the best life possible at Casa de Slimmer. Please pray that my laser surgery goes well and that I, too, recover painlessly from the anesthesia and surgery.

Wesa both will have mama update you about our surgery successes sometime on Tuesday.

Help The Painter's Pack Reesie Cup!!

Please pray for our little Reesie Cup. She
has parvo.We took her to the vet, but they wanted $500 up
front with a total cost of over $900 for 4 days of treatment. We simply do not
have it. I am crushed and heartbroken that they would not work with us on this
or let us make payments. I've checked around and that is pretty standard for
the "business" of being a Vet.All that aside, we are looking into some other
alternative methods of treating her, but realistically, it doesn't look good.
If she starts to suffer, we will let her go peacefully. But it is ripping my
heart out.Please just pray for her...I know that God has His
reasons and plans. I do not question Him at all. But it doesn't make it any
easier for us or for our poor little girl.Sherri

Update on Luna--Weekend thru Monday Vet Visit!!

Over the weekend, Luna warmed up to us and now seems to becoming more the Luna that Chrystal talked about. She is using the litter box regularly and eating well. Right now, she is in quarantine in the "unfinished" basement until she is declawed...with pugs...none of the cats we have can have their front claws due to the pugs bulging eyes. I don't like doing the declaw but in this house it is a necessity. :) She will get declawed on January 10th. The vet said she is one healthy girl and most likely the sneezing/sniffles she experienced were due to the almost 12 hour car ride between Illinois and Kansas. She is feeling good now and the vet has given his seal of approval and said that Luna was a sweet and beautiful cat. :) Coming from a vet that sees cats day in and day out, that sure was a compliment to Luna's good care she got from Chrystal. :)

Luna just loves the camera...she seemed to always be wanting to sniff the camera...so many photos do not include her full body image. She's a curious, sweet thing. :)

It is estimated that Luna was a young mother when she had her litter of kittens that included the adoptable Golden. Between my family and our vet, we have chosen her birth date to be April 16th, 2010. She will be 2 this year. :) We chose April 16th because it is between Jack's birthday (April 4th) and Socks' birthday (May 10th). April 16th will also be easy for Mama CJ to remember as that was her mother's (my Grammy's) birthday. Grammy passed away in Sept. of 95'...she was a cat person...and that day is easier to remember...so it shall be. :)

Please send good wishes for Luna on January 10th as she will be declawed that day and will spend the 10th and 11th in a cage to heal from her surgery before she will be released from the vet's hospital to go back home...where she will recuperate in quarantine.

Send Your Quilt Squares for The Fearless Five's Remembrance Quilt

Here is the piece of cloth that we are sending for the quilt. Wesa had nothing in the house that meant much to us'uns that was made of cloth so wesa went and bought something that meant a lot to us'uns. We live in Kansas and the state flower is the sunflower. Sunflowers grow in our backyard and in the fields behind our home. Sunflowers stand for longevity and loyalty. Purple is a favorite color of our daddy, who's alma mater is K-state (purple, silver, white), and mama CJ's birthday is in February where the amethyst is the birthstone. The color purple has lots of meaning and is meant to uplift the spirits and be a color of spirituality.

It would be nice if everyone who follows the Pittie Pack and Wee One's aka Kissabull would send a piece of cloth that meant something to them whether it be something found in their home, or if you are like us, purchase a piece of fabric that has meaning to you. Either way is acceptable and it is about the LOVE behind the piece of fabric than the actual physical fabric you send.

Here is the information about the Memory Quilt and how YOU can participate:

A Memory Quilt for Sandra is being Planned. It will be Queen Sized and will have the five Angels' likenesses appliqued on it. The quilt will be made by Agnes Bullock... of the Dachsies With Moxie. It will be ready by Valentine's Day. Agnes (affectionately know as.. What's Her Name, by her furbabies) had an even MORE wonderful Idea.. She is willing to put a bit of YOU into the quilt. Agnes will stitch a Small (6 inch SQUARE) bit of cloth that Means something to YOU into the quilt. That way Sandra will have the most PERSONAL tribute to her

Luna's Transport Day

This will be a brief post without pictures. Just thought I would warn you before we get started on the 11 hour trek.

Mama CJ and I (Mama Mindy) left the house at 7am.
We stopped at a "Kum & Go" half way into our journey for gas and to potty, just so mama and I could be ornery and say, "We came and we went!!"
We arrived in good spirits in Mountain Grove, MO at 12pm.
Ate lunch at a local eatery.
Chrystal called and told us she would be running an hour behind.
No problem...we went to Wal-mart and bought the pugs a new orthopedic bed for the kitchen, a new hedgehog toy (a favorite toy that we'll be lucky if it lasts a week), and the kitties a self-contained pooper scooper (i.e. the handle goes into the lid which is attached to the scooper. You put a little trash bag in the waste bin and then scoop your poop...then the unit closes with the lid attached to the scooper...think of the way toilet scrub brushes are now made).
Chrystal and her daughter Katie arrive with Luna. After a bit of chat, we both go on our ways....both of us had long journeys to get home and didn't want to waste one minute of daylight. Chrystal and her daughter were delightful.
Luna was silent in the car the entire way home. She sneezed a few times which we answered with a "Bless You, Luna."
We stopped twice on the way home....once to get gas and go potty and the last to order our New Year's cake from our local Dillon's supermarket.
We arrived home at 7:15pm exhausted but still in good spirits.
I let the pugs outside to potty. Don't worry, Daddy man's (my father, mama CJ's husband) was home until 5pm (the time at which he left for work) so they were not left home alone all day.
While the pugs were distracted outside, mama got herself and Luna out of the car and went down to the basement which is set up for Luna as temporary residency until she gets used to us and then her cat siblings. The pugs will be last for Luna to handle...we didn't want to overwhelm and scare the poor dear on her first night. Jack had this same set up except it is even nicer downstairs than when Jack took residence...we hope Luna has noticed our efforts.
Luna from the time mama CJ got her litter pan, food, and water situated has been in hiding.
We talk to her from one of the recliners down there just so she gets used to our voices.
I figure she has a right to hide and smell all of the downstairs. As she is a stranger in a strange land...but hopefully she'll make herself at home soon!! :)
Luna is safe and loved in the Slimmer household...it just might take a while for adjustments on every one's part to make the transition go smoothly. Right now, it is best that we let Luna explore and interact with her from a distance until she decides that SHE wants to mingle with US. That's her right...and we will stand by her...but I hope that we can get her out of hiding long enough tomorrow so she can meet with her forever vets and the ladies of the office. They look forward to meeting her and I look forward to determining when she was born...as she was an adult cat when rescued and as Chrystal told me today, she isn't more than 2 years at most. So, I will keep you updated and hopefully provide new pictures as Luna allows me to update y'all.

The treasures that await Miss Luna!!

Mama Mindy and Mama CJ (mama Mindy's mama) are on the road to pick up Luna. They will meet Miss Chrystal in Mountain Grove, MO. The weather is looking fantastic for traveling to and fro. Yay!
This is one of Mama's favorite picture of our new purr-sibling Luna so far...

Luna will be traveling in style in her own cat carrier...

...with a brand new crate pad!! Mamas usually just use old towels...but this benefited an animal charity and was just so cute that wesa pawed her to buy it for Miss Luna!!

Meanwhile...back at the ranch...we have all these goodies awaiting Miss Luna. Wesa want hers to feel welcome and know that things are hers as much as they are the other kitties. Mama in fact bought Luna toys that are Luna's responsibility to share or not share. :)

A new kitty bed...it is called a crown bed and boy is it luxurious. 'Da mamas wish they made hu-peep sized beds like Miss Luna's.

This is Socks, Jack, and Luna's Christmas gift. The cat tree came in early December even before the final decision for adopting Luna was in place...but it will get plenty of love and use once Luna arrives. The other cats aren't quite sure what to think about it.

Take a look at that view that the kitties have...they can see birds, squirrels, and look out onto the fenced-in backyard and the countryside. We have a farming field right behind our house!!

Awhile back, an auction was held for Miss Chrystal...and this particular kitty tunnel was one of the items we bid on a won. We sent it to Miss Chrystal for her cat house...

...then we got this picture of our sweet Luna in front of it and we went to petco.com and ordered one. Itsa should be in the Slimmer household by the end of this week or next. Wesa hope the purr-sibs love it'ums!!

Mama in fact bought Luna toys that are Luna's responsibility to share or not share. :)

She has cork toys, a raffia ball with a jingle ball inside, a soft, pink soccer ball, a laser toy that is green and mouse-shaped, a pink fur-fur brush, 3 crinkle balls, 3 jingle balls, 3 glitter balls, 3 mouse toys with long tails, and a big hot-pink mouse toy with a feather tail.

Wesa sure hope she likes us puggums and our purr-siblings, Socks and Jack. She will be our 3rd and last purr-sibling for our household. So Welcome Luna...your stuck with us'uns! :)

Yes, the kitties got a cat tree for their gift this year...which we put together immediately. We are hoping Luna will teach Jack and Socks how to use it...as we hear that she uses Miss Chrystal's office cat tree often!! :)

Meet the Slimmer CATS!! YES...I said, CATS!!

Mama Mindy here to surprise you!! We have added TWO new members to the family.

First, I want you to know about our senior kitty resident, Socks Lucyfur. She is our oldest kitty...she is 14 1/2...and has a sensitive stomach issue requiring her to be on a special diet. Otherwise, she is feisty and knows how to tell the pugs who's boss...and she quite likes to tease them and then run away to a beloved bed where most (as Lily is the jumper of the pug crew) can not reach her. She's my pretty, itty, bitty, witty, kitty!! She doesn't get her photo taken as much as the pugs do...as this is their blog...but I hope to post more about the kitties from know on...but it will still essentially be the pugs blog.

Socks Lucyfur

The first addition to our family was a cat that started life as a homeless kitten, then became my sister's cat. Too many moves, and he became homeless by choice (yes...he literally told my sister...that he had had enough of her lifestyle and went back to the streets). A month goes by and finally he is spotted by my sister on her mail route (she is a mail lady) and taken home...The Slimmer Puggums home that is...and he is now dad's cat...more so than Socks. He is quite a big guy for being all of 3 1/2 years...but he did lose some weight while on the streets and we hope to fatten him up in no time...or at least to the point that we can't feel his ribs so prominently. He loves it here and has claimed Sock's room as his own much to her dismay. He is a talker. The adjustment is getting better daily for Socks and Jack, which is good...because...

Jumpin' Jack Flash

The crazy Slimmer family decided that the age difference between Socks and Jack might be a problem as she is technically a Senior kitty and he needs someone a bit more energetic and ready for his challenges. Right now...he's just a big ol' bed potato. My dad said, "What's the difference if we add just one more cat to the mix." Wait a minute, that sounds nothing like my father...

Let me go backwards in order for this story to make sense. Back in November, a good bloggying friend of mine, Chrystal, mentioned a gorgeous kitty that was living separately from the cat house gang (i.e. the group of other foster cats that have their own building until a permanent home is found for each and every one of them). I was saddened by this...and over such a small issue as a SENSITIVE STOMACH. Hmm...Socks is on sensitive stomach cat food... and we always wondered if maybe she longed for a kitty companion.

I launched into immediate action...but fell flat on my stubborn, saddened face. My dad said, "We have enough animals. The answer is NO!" This is before I even had a chance to explain myself. This was not as if I asked him for every single homeless cat I have ever seen...otherwise...I would be locked up after having a series on cat hoarders...MOST WANTED. This was the first time I have mentioned getting a cat since I was 5...at least to my father...my mom might have heard my wish a few times more...but not too much. I love Socks and love my pugs to death...so why this cat? Simply put...I felt it in my heart she was meant to be with our family. What's one more mouth to feed and one more kitty to love?

Jump a week past this father-daughter disagreement. Jack is brought to our home by my dad, who supposedly was just out to find him.

Background: Dad is not much of a pug person...I think he is one of the few men out their that delights in cats...maybe it is because they are less demanding...I doubt that...it's called...Mindy and CJ (my mama) took care of all the vet outings and bills and etc,. so except for the occasional litter box cleaning and food bowl filling, he had limited duties. He recently retired from one of his jobs...and has made his part-time his full-time job...hence he has more time on his hands and longs for the companionship from when we had 5 cats...maybe 6 was the maximum we had all at once...heck...I can't remember the details.

Back to the story: So yeah...Mindy doesn't get her wish fulfilled of bringing home a beautiful cat needing a home that has the exact same issue as our senior girl Socks and he brings home a boy cat that was my sister's responsibility. But...once a cat man always a cat man. He was so upset with my sister when she lost Jack or rather Jack ditched her that he actually for the first time in his life saw my sister in less-than-bright Rose-colored glasses. If you live in this house, you would know how BIG of a shock that was...my sister lives on a pedestal and is his golden child.

Anywho...I know I am getting off subject...but he takes in HER cat and adopts him within a week of saying all that, "No more additions, E-V-E-R, speech."

Needless to say after he brought Jack home, I got reinvigorated in my quest to have this special kitty named Luna come into my families life...as I had the perfect edge on this debate...he's nothing but a big ol' softy cat man. He is a Kansas State Wildcat (his Alma mater) after all!!

He actually listened to Luna's story and then turned the decision over to mom...much to her dismay as mom thought 2 cats was plenty...I mean we just doubled our quota of cats in less than a week after 5 years or so of having only Socks and the pugs. But...her love of Luna soon returned and voila! we are meeting Ms. Chrystal from Daily Dose of Dogs aka Cat's with your Coffee...and adopting Luna...soon to be...

I hope y'all enjoyed my making a short story long...but it just seemed like the universe aligned for our little Luna to join the family.

Can I ask for a favor? Please pray for good weather between Augusta, KS---Mountain Grove, MO--Grand Chain, IL...as for the first time ever...I, Mama Mindy and my mama, Mama CJ, will get to meet our blogging buddy (the first time ever we have met a blogger in the skins/furs) and pick up our little Luna. :) We feel blessed to be able to take this sweet, talkative, loving, and sensitive-stomach kitty into our household as we have always lived with this stomach issue in our kitty world. We don't want any weather to stand in our way of picking her up and taking her home.

Thanks Chrystal for green-lighting our adoption so quickly and arranging for a day that we all could meet up so close to Christmas!! I just can't wait to hold Luna on the drive home...although the carrier is there just in case. :)

Hi furiends! Please keep the Pittie Pack and Wee One's in your heart...but also don't forget that we must continue to live and continue on our own journeys. Wesa figured that those we lost would want us'uns to continue our Christmas celebratiums so we will with them in our hearts always.

So please come visit our house and see our lights. Wesa see yousa stopped your car on the other side of the street to take a photo. Come closer.

So glad you are getting closer....looking to the left wesa see....
Now...yousa have moved to the right...just short of our porch...you can come on the porch...your furiends...we won't bark....much...hehehehehe!!
There you go...up on the porch is where you can see everything in detail. Isn't Santa napping in his recliner with the puggums cute. Danbury Mint you know.
Then on the left side you can see our pug furiend that has Santa's sack on his back, yet another DM purchase. Santa knows us puggies are full of gas and ready to go...so we are super efficient for an all night sleigh ride. Hehehehehe!
Don't look Frankie...the dreaded Snowman...never mind...Look Frankie...look at the pugs attacking the snowman and ripping him to shreds...sort of...all courtesy of the DM.

We know...not as impressive as the Griswold's down the street...but we try to keep it low key and low power bills over here. Only the porch light and the Snowman run on electricity. Our candles run on 3 "C" batteries a piece. Just doin' what we can to have a "green" and white and, of course, PUGGY Christmas.

Dear Friends, THIS is Frankie's MOM today.

A Memory Quilt for Sandra is being Planned. It will be Queen Sized and will have the five Angels' likenesses appliqued on it. The quilt will be made by Agnes Bullock... of the Dachsies With Moxie. It will be ready by Valentine's Day. Agnes (affectionately know as.. What's Her Name, by her furbabies) had an even MORE wonderful Idea.. She is willing to put a bit of YOU into the quilt. Agnes will stitch a Small (6 inch SQUARE) bit of cloth that Means something to YOU into the quilt. That way Sandra will have the most PERSONAL tribute to her beloved ones possible.
You have seen some of Agnes' wonderful quilts on Twix, Sarge, and This Blog. She does Wonderful Work!!! It will be something for Sandra to keep for EVER.
If you would like to send a BIT of YOU to be included in the quilt we know that it would mean so much to Sandra. WHAT would work? Bits of your furst Blankie... scraps of beloved Stuffies... material from your favorite BED or a Tee Shirt or other of your "clothes".. heck... even a piece of your Baff Towel. Remember Whatever scrap of TREASURE you choose... must be WASHABLE and it must be Flat... Not like a Collar or a Rope toy.. so that it can actually be stitched into the quilt. I think you get the idea. Just make it be something that has Meaning to YOU. I KNOW... you don't want to cut up a treasure... but it is a small scrap... and that little Hole that is left behind for You to see will help remind you of what you DO have. Small sacrifice on OUR part... to Help Fill a HUGE HOLE in Sandra's World. RIGHT?

AND.... Tell her WHAT the scrap of material CAME from and What it Means to YOU and a brief description of the scrap!!! The Description (color, pattern,etc.) will help Sandra to LOCATE that bit of LOVE (that You are sending her) on the quilt. These Letters will all be Saved and Sent to Sandra along with the quilt.

NOW I have a bit more information for you.... If you would like to help Sandra and her family BEYOND what you have so generously done... some of us have been working behind the secenes and have come up with this... Since they lost EVERYTHING... and are currently staying with Family... Space must be considered along with everything else... So Gift Cards seem to be the best way to go. There are BOTH a Target and A Wal-Mart very near. Of course you do know that WAL-Mart is where Shelby was Found by Sandra.
I KNOW that many of you would like to buy actual Presents for Sandra, Josh, the Baby and Bella and Brinks... but we MUST consider all the ins and outs... It would be for the Best to allow Sandra to purchase what is needed and not overwhelm everyone in the household. Perhaps they would even need some food items for their CHRISTMAS DINNER. Yes, my dear friends... Gift Cards would be MOST APPRECIATED.

We got a gingerbread in a pot, 3 kong squeaky balls, a fuzzy bone, a squeaky "#1 Pet/My Best Friend" award, and a long blue mouse squeaky.

Lily loved the Kong squeaky balls the best.

We also got nom-noms. Yay!

The Buddy biscuits came in the shape of a gingerbread man.

Mimi to mama: Drop the toy, feed me the nom-noms, NOW!!

After some treats, the gang decides that the fuzzy bone needs a workout. (And a workout it got...within two days it went to the stuffy grave-yard!!)

Toby decided to model the hat that was sent with the stipulation that he would get an extra treat for enduring this humilation gone public!

Now, don't you feel sorry'ums for our mamas. They got treated, too! Emma, Bella, and Sweet Pea sent them not one, but two, Fridgerator magnets.

Attack of the Pug Christmas Tree!!

Hi all our furiends! This is one of our prized possesiums. Our pug Christmas tree!! It is now 6.5ft and full of more and more of our minature selves. Wesa had mama Mindy brave the crowds on Black Friday at 11am-ish and it took her two Wal-marts before she foundsa this bee-u-tea-full pre-lit tree for less than $70.00. Mama CJ, our other mama, had to work at her Wally-mart that night and she said that Mama Mindy was smart...cuz' all the trees were gone by then. And a few days later, mama CJ brought home the bow at the top of the tree below our puggy angel and it has LEDs and works off batteries and is automatic for 6 hours...from around 6'ish to midnight'ums. Okays...wesa stop talking so you can get many views of our tree'ums that our nutty Mama Mindy took...she says we still have more ornaments comin' from Danbury Mint...wesa will always have room for the puggies!!

An etsy seller makes all kinds of Angel toppers of all kinds of babies. Mama purchased this last year for our tree (our tree was 5 ft. at the time)!!

The puggy with the lights in his mouth'ums was a gift from our pug furiend Winston...wesa won his contest last year'ums and he sent us this bee-u-tea!!

See that black puggy ball ornament on the far left?!? Our Aunty Punchy from PugPossessed made us'uns that and sent that with our Christmas outfits. Whens we are cooperative, mama will take and post pictures of us in our finery. :)

See the fawn puggy ball in the center of the picture towards the presents?!? That was made by Aunty Punchy, too!! Shesa super talented!!

Hisa furiends!! Wesa will now show you the birds of upstairs. Our Mama CJ didn't have any birdies in hersa room. Mama Mindy and Mama CJ recently got rid of the rubber ducky themed bathroom...so that is now free of the birds...so we will start off briefly in Mama Mindy's room.

Sarge's Give Us the Bird--Day 2 of 5--The rest of the downstairs birds

Hi all! Today...wesa will show a few more kitchen cluckers and then we'll move'ums onto the rest of the downstairs. Wesa have learned that we have a lot of birds in our house. Hi all our furiends!! Today was a cold day. We broke out the Aunty Melissa Sweaters while outside...and broke out the snugglin' inside. We had our first bit of snow...but it never made it to the ground. Sort of hit our bodies and melted. I guess we are some nice heaters!!

All we are missing is Miss Mimi...she must be warming the mamas tootsies!!

Gracie's Final Left Leggy Check & Left Ear Check!!

Hi all my bloggy furiends!! Mama wanted to have a break for the weekend...but then she forgot I had my left leggy and ear re-check. This will be a very brief post...I'm doing fantabulous. I do not need to go in for any more leggy checks...but my ear was still a bit red in color and had a bit of gunk still...so 10 more days of ear flush and ear meds. No biggy!!
I will update you in 10 days on how my ear is doing...but it is MUCH better than it was a couple weeks ago. Wesa will type again on Monday!!

Hi furiends! Happy Veterans Day!

On Wednesday evening, the UPS man dropped this off at the house...or rather I was about to go out on an errand and I caught him by the curb. :) May I present...the November Danbury Mint pug charms. Aren't they just adorable?!?!

Yesterday, we asked if anybody was interested in the Danbury Mint Pug Clock and leash holder that our family has outgrown. We had a drawing and the winner was Yoda, Brutus, and Ellie. Congrats! Wesa will ship it out to you on Monday!!

Sidenote: Gracie to Yoda--> Isa so glad you won it my luv. Just think...what was once mine is now yours...like my heart...tick...tick...tick. :)

First off, Isa won my lovely Miss Marlene's (my girlyfuriend's) contest to guess when the alien in her mama's belly would be born. I was the only person to guess the alien would arrive earlier than the due date...and thank goodness I did...for little Joey, as the alien is know called, was born an entire month early!! Gracie and Mimi Dogtor Updates!!

Just a quick note (no pics) to let you know how the girls are doing. :)

Mimi's hystiocitoma is healed up perfectly and you wouldn't even notice minus a few hairs that she even had one. Yay!

Gracie has had unfortunate events since her last leggy check. No worries...her leggy is still doing great!! But...her left ear not so much. She went to the vet on Saturday due to some nasty gunk coming out of her ear during her bi-weekly ear cleaning. The vet got more gunk out and couldn't believe how quickly this infection had spread in her left ear. She had a smear done of her ear gunk and it came back being a bacterial and yeast infection. She got two shots and went home with medications and strict cleaning and medicating orders.

Follow-up to today. Not much improvement...at least the gunk was still thick. After Mimi's check up, my mother and I voiced our concerns about Gracie Lynn's left ear and the dogtor thought he should have a quick look. So...we did a quick pug switch at home and went with Gracie to the vet. She is actually healing wonderfully...but the dogtor did say there was a lot of gunk in there still...so he swabbed her out...took quite a few ear swabs and then finally he said he could see in the inner ear and she had another swab and her swabs show hardly any yeast infection and still a bacterial infection but the inside is clearing up...she just sort of needed an extra boost of ear swabbing to take care of the "clog" between her outter and inner ear. Way to go Dogtor Mike!!

Gracie is feeling better and we all had a good nap today!!

BREAKING NEWS--Gracie's Vet Bill Has Been Paid Off!!

I'm so happy to be rid of that heavy cast...and mama and Isa are both happy'ums because my surgery bill is paid off!! Yay! Woohoo! It is a nice Fall Day and I am enjoying it.

But First, I want to reflect...

And Thank everyone who has made this possible'ums: yousa know whos yousa are individually. Thanks for chipping in anonymously or chipping in to sign my cast'ums.

And Today...I must send a HUGE...no....GINORMOUS Thank You to Crossed Paws...our blogville charity that is supported and funded by everyone in blogville who participates in auctions, buying kisses, buying slurps, buying raffle tickets, etc...Thank You to the main peoples that run our blogville charity...JD & Max, Mayor Frankie, Mr. Pip, Cop Sarge, Oskar and Jazzi. Gracie's Cast is Off...and Mimi Roo's vet visit

Mama Mindy hijacking the blog for an update on Miss Gracie's and Miss Mimi Roo's vet visit. Gracie is super happy. Her stitches and cast have been removed.

She is hoping that her fur will grow in before it gets too much colder. As you can see, the Fall winds are here in South Central Kansas and that means cold, cold wind...and Aunty Melissa Sweaters.

(Sidenote and Shout out: If you would like your own sweater vests, visit her esty shop to order and go to her sweater website to choose colors and look at other babies modeling the sweaters. :)

Now that my free plug for the pawsome sweaters are over, I will update you on Mimi. As you can tell in the photos below. Her left eyebrow area...very close to her eye had what was diagnosed as a benign histiocytoma. You can google the term "canine hisitiocytoma" to get more info. Good news...benign...bad news...ouch! So she will be on antibiotics for the next two weeks.

Both girls will go back to Dogtor Mike in two-weeks for a re-check. Cross Paws that Gracie's fur grows in and her leg continues to strengthen. She is at a Level 0...but she needs to rest it up as much as she can. Cross Paws for Mimi that ouchie! heals and she feels all better!! :)

Now, here is Toby strutting his "turtle" stuff around.

Don't look Marlene...George is nekkid!! And Lily with her favorite toy...a Kong Squeaky Small ball!! Yum! That ball is sure delicious after I, Lily, put all my slobbers on it and throw it in the dirt for extra seasoning!! :)

Some "butt"ies are looking good in their sweaters. Marlene, you can now open your eyes...George is in his cowboy sweater vest!! :)

I just want to thank everyone for their well wishes, cross paws, good vibes, and green papers!! We still have a way to go on the vet bill with things that come up here and there...but you all have helped make the load a lot easier to bear!! :) And...Aunty Melissa is an awesome furiend that with her baby, Archie, create pawsome sweaters. I just love that my babies have sweaters to keep them warm and already have ordered their Christmas sweaters! Sssshhhhh! Don't tell the kids as I want them to be surprised Christmas morning. :)

My good buddy JD, from Schnauzer and Schnauzer, came by and wanted a special message for a special girl in his life!! Congrats to the happy couple!!

Thank you to all my furiends who signed my cast to make my "bare" leggy more bearable! (And...Yes, that is a dear, deer bone next to me in the shot above. My mama bought one for me and my siblings before I had the second surgery...and they are supposed to last a real long time (Mama note: Thank goodness...that was not an inexpensive purchase...but my babies are worth it). Mama talked to the sales lady and the sales lady reccommends boiling in the bones in chicken or beef broth to "enhance" flavors...incase us picky puggies need some added flavor!! Boy...does she know pugs well!! :)

Cast Signing Day 13--YODA, my boyfriend, and his Siblings

My boyfuriend Yoda came in with his cute little sissy Miss Ellie and his brother Brutus. They are such a sweet three-some...but I enjoyed a little me and Yoda's two-some time...as you can tell in my picture below I am dreaming "sweet" dreams of me and Yoda. :)

I would love to have a lot more signatures on my leggy however TODAY is the last day of me wearing my cast'ums. Tomorrow, I get the cast off and provide y'all with a double-post day. Mimi Roo is going to the vet, too...as she has a small growth above her eye in her eyebrow-ish area and both of the mamas are worried...so she gets to see Dogtor Mike, too. Wish us well!! Pee-s: Anyone notice Mayor Frankie's message to his wives was missing in a few posts. Yep! Mama has now learned that the masking tape must be bolstered by some clear scotch tape to keep the cast signings on. Gracie's Post Operative Check- 1 Week Later--the Good and the Bad

Hi everybuddy! Your furiend Gracie here. So...I guess you can already see the bad of my check up. Yep! My dogtor removed my bee-u-tea-full cast (which was getting gross towards the bottom and inside) and he put on a new, boring cast. His reasons were good according to the mamas. He wanted to make sure my leggy got plenty of support and he thought that my previous cast was a bit loose and skimpy (skimpy thanks to a little black sister named Mimi Roo who decided the top and bottom of my casts looked like a fun chew toy!!). So...one hour after I got in the vet with my bee-u-tea-full cast'ums, I left with another boring ol' cast.

But the good new is grrrrreat! Yep! Between the removal of the old cast that was all purdy with my bestest buddies signatures on it...and before the new cast was put on, dogtor Mike had a good look at my knee and leggy and he said it looked pawsome (my words, not his). So...next Wednesday, my leggy will be bare skinned as this "new" cast will be removed and I hopefully will be cast-free furever. Yay!

Now, before the old, purdy cast was taken off, I had over 20 cast signing signature days. So...there are pictures of me in my cast through Tuesday, October 25th.

I hope it is okay with you that I have the new cast'ums! Oh...and on that point, I had over $275 in
donations for lil' ol' me. And mama went ahead and put that towards my bill, plus another $225. Isa am on my way to a $0 balance. Woohoo! By the ways, mama is selling off her porcelain dollies to make up the difference between what y'all have given and the final bill which includes my brother's dental and a month worth of flea treatment/heartworm preventative, which was over $1,200.

So, I am so greatful to all of you my furiends and I am truly appreciative for every green dollar you have provided to make my recovery better and less worrisome.

My good furiends Mona and Weenie were the first to donate to have their names put on my cast. I am super happy that we decided to go with a Halloweenie theme.

As you can see, I have tons more space for more signatures. My mama has developed a new way to do my cast signings so that they aren't so unbearable for me. She bought some masking tape and cuts off a piece for the names. Next, she puts that on a piece of wax paper so that the stickiness stays in tact but she can now decorate it. Then, she takes it off the wax paper and onto my cast'ums. Isn't that a pawsome way to do it?!?

Surgery Update- Gracie's Home!!!!!!!

As you can tell by the picture above, everybody was so happy for Gracie to be home and they were sniffing her over. :) She had the same surgery on her left leggy as she had on the right. Mama only got one picture as her batteries died...and she needs to go buy some more batteries. Gracie is on her Glucosamine supplement, her Rimadyl for pain, and an antibiotic. She was super happy to see us at the vet and we were so happy to see her. It was a wonderful reunion and we would like for that to be the last surgery she ever has because we miss her too much when she is away. :)

Thank you everyone for your well wishes and prayers and crossed paws!! As you can see, they have all helped her come home safely and happily.

Thank you also to our furiends that have donated to her leggy fund. My family is still going through some financial issues so every dollar helps.
